The Zwartkops Conservancy was formed over 50 years ago and is one of the oldest environmental organisations in the country.
It is a registered non-profit and public benefit organization able to issue section 18A Certificates to donors.

To promote public awareness and participation in caring for the greater Swartkops River ecosystem for the benifit of all.

Pollution
We combat pollution in all of its forms that effects our estuary. Whether it be industrial pollution, air pollution, water pollution or general residential waste.
Enviromental Education
Our long term mission is to educate the public about the evils of pollution. We reach in excess of 2,500 school children annually
Conservation
We are actively involved in conservation of our 2 nature reserves – Zwartkops and Aloes Nature Reserves, including all forms of fauna and flora.
What We Do
The Zwartkops Conservancy is dedicated to the protection of the
Zwartkops Valley and Estuary with the ultimate aim of returning it to its
former pristine condition.
